Hello Everyone!
I hope your summer is going great! Here are a few notes on items that I have been working on.
Colburn Pool After a few years of struggle and raising a million dollars in private donations, we have finally achieved a decision on the pool. It will be remodeled similar to what it is today—an Olympic sized pool, with everything brought up to date. This will take place next spring/summer. The pool will be relined, with new mechanicals. The bath house will be new and there will be a much better concession area with seating inside the pool area. There will be a zero-depth entry with a few water features for the very young. The diving will stay and we will add some small ‘zip-lines’. There will also be a grass berm for seating. This will be a great community asset as it has been for the past 50 years. I am proud to have taken on this project and thank the volunteers, donors and aldermen who supported it.
West Side Trail
In an effort to connect our west side trail to the Howard trail and the East Side trails, I have asked that the city look at purchasing some/all of the abandoned Railyard on Ashland. We could put a trail in, create a soccer complex/park and use some for new homes. We are also working with Howard to link our trail to theirs.
I hope to be coming around in late summer/early fall with a newsletter. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email me.

Check out the perennials by our neighborhood sign
Perennials were planted around our Western Corridor Sign on the corner of Western and Oneida . They will become a welcoming site at the beginning of the Edinger Trail for all the walkers and bikers.
A big thank you to Justin Kroenig for his expertise in choosing, arranging and planting just the right special perennials.
This spring our plants will have had a chance to establish themselves and we look
forward to enjoying their beautiful flowers.
